Digital scholarship projects often incorperate different types of media, some of which are from existing sources. Using existing or outside media requires navigating intellectual property rights.
The media resources below have a number of reusable and public domain materials that lessen concerns about violating copyright. Please keep in mind that even when a site says media may be used, it is imperative that you read the sites’ terms of use policies to verify that you are in full compliance. It is also important that you credit the materials.
