Exercise: Experiment with 3D creation tools

In the Digital Studio, we have access to equipment for both 3D modeling and laser scanning. The aim of this hands-on experiment is to explore and try to create 3D models, perhaps for use in the Alternate Reality (AR) scene to be created in the next part of the incubator.

Equipment Available

• Photogrammetry setup with Lightbox and basic DSLR camera, good for objects down to about the size of your fist

• Hand-held Laser Scanner (borrowed from Schiller), good for quick scanning of larger models (and people!)

• Hand-held laser Scanner with roundtable setup, good for objects down to 3cm
